I was offered a secondhand hive earlier this year from a friend of my father and being a beginner with only one old hive I jumped at the chance. Details on the type of hive were vague and I assumed it would be either a National or Smith. Once it was in my possession an experienced beekeeper advised me that I had got hold of a rarity know as a Wormit hive!
I then remembered the beginners class stating that it was not a good idea to mix your equipment due to compatibility issues!
Anyway, I have a very nice example of a wormit hive, brood box, super, heather type floor, roof and I think there are 10 or 11 long lug frames. If anyone is interested please get in touch.
